The only way to watch street racing videos was to spend an hour downloading a 1 minute clip from Limewire, BearShare, Morpheus, etc. I remember these two being some of the first videos I ever downloaded. It’s weird how video from 2000 today looks like it’s from 1990.

Ah yes forgot about Kazaa. I was referring to just videos, Think I only ever used Napster for music.

Why put the one without headlights in the oncoming lane?

Oh, right. Street racers. They forgot their brains at home.

This just reminds me that I have hours of footage from my college car club on DV tapes I need to digitize some day. Including a lot of E46 M3 antics

LOL. I recognized the first one without playing it.

Here’s my favorite. These burnouts are insane.

Even the music is time period appropriate.

I remember both these videos. I still occasionally look for the video of the mustang police chase where they Pit maneuver him 2 or 3 times and he spins out off it and keeps going.

It’s weird how video from 2000 today looks like it’s from 1990.

It’s because almost every LCD you can get your hands on today is as good as the top of the line ‘no ghosting’ PC gaming LCDs used to be. Add about 8x the pixel density, double the color accuracy, standardize IPS, wait about 5 years, and the result will be every VHS level video you can watch today looking like shit no matter what you chose to watch it on.

And we’re not even done yet. Ever seen those new 4k displays at best buy running right next to their top of the line FHDs? It’s the difference between looking through a window and watching a blurry mess...
